About Me

A married graduate in BA Media Studies (Hons) from the University of Northampton. I have been using computers since i was 6 years old. I started to program in VB6 aged 13 and by age 18 i could write in VB, and VB .Net and had experience with every OS Microsoft has ever written.

I had never heard of Linux until i was 15 and i didnt get into Linux until this year. I look back over the wasted years of Microsoft usage and i wish i had seen Fedora Core soooooo much earlier. I fell in love with Fedora immediatly. I now use SuSE Linux 10.1, and Fedora Core 5, but try different distros out all the time. I am a very regular computer user and programmer, as well as being a freelance journalist. I can write in VB6, VB .Net, QBASIC and Gambas, C++, Visual C++ .Net, HTML and a few others ok-ish. I speak English and can speak French, but only up to GCSE level!!

I have many qualifications, mostly in computer technology and English literature. I have done a lot of work as an editor for school, college and university publications as well as national and regional publications. My main interests are Sub-Editing, programming, problem solving, and Linux, and enjoy spending nights in at home with my beautiful wife.

You can no longer view my Curriculum Vitae (CV, Resume) online. This has been removed. This site will be updated shortly to include further information, but no further CV's will be posted.

I am a poster on the Fedora Forums, under the screen name MAniX. I also contribute to the Fedora Documentation Project as an editor. I am a regular member of the local Northants Linux User Group (NLUG)

This website will also host all the new documentation i write, but also feature some of the best elements from the web. It is intended to be used by both newbies and pros. This will be the focus of my project to unify all manner of information if Linux and in particular Fedora Core, into one place so that you can find what you need to, and find it fast. This will link to some of the best guides around, but will also have much of my own thoughts and knowledge that i have gained.
